GHRP-6 Acetate

GHRP-6 exerts its effects by selectively binding to and activating the growth hormone secretagogue receptor type 1a (GHS-R1a), a Class A G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) expressed primarily in the hypothalamus and pituitary gland. Upon receptor activation, GHRP-6 stimulates intracellular signaling cascades involving phospholipase C (PLC) activation, inositol phosphate production, and intracellular calcium mobilization. This signaling pathway promotes the synthesis and pulsatile release of growth hormone from somatotroph cells in the anterior pituitary, independent of the cAMP pathway utilized by GHRH. Unlike native ghrelin, GHRP-6 also acts as a negative allosteric modulator of ghrelin signaling. The compound stimulates GH release in a specific and dose-related manner, with activity observed even after oral administration.
