Ipamorelin

Ipamorelin selectively binds to and activates the ghrelin/growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHS-R1a) in the hypothalamus and pituitary gland. This activation stimulates the release of growth hormone from the anterior pituitary in a pulsatile manner. Unlike other GHS compounds, ipamorelin is the first GHRP-receptor agonist with a selectivity for GH release similar to that displayed by growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), making it a highly specific research tool for studying the GH axis. It does not significantly affect ACTH or cortisol levels, distinguishing it from many other growth hormone secretagogues.
